The Study
The Village of Port Henry, in cooperation with the Town of Moriah, conducted a study to serve as a decision-making tool for Village voters on whether or not to dissolve the Village. A dissolution plan that meets the technical requirements of state law was developed as part of the study.

Study Team
The study was conducted by an eight-member steering committee with assistance from the Center for Governmental Research (CGR), a nonprofit, nonpartisan consulting organization with expertise in government management.

Timetable
A Village vote on dissolution was held on March 16, 2010. Voters rejected dissolving the Village by a vote of 186 to 146. To see a flowchart of the study process, click here.
