The Study
The Village of Painted Post, in cooperation with the Town of Erwin, evaluated the benefits and costs of pursuing shared services, consolidating one or more functions under a single government, or merging with the Town. A study committee examined options for the future.

The Study Team
A 9-member committee conducted the study with assistance from the CGR a nonprofit, nonpartisan consulting organization with expertise in government management.

Timetable
The year-long study was completed in December 2011. In January 2013, Painted Post voters rejected dissolving the village 376 to 291.
