The Study
The Village of Chaumont spent more than a year evaluating full consolidation of services with the Town of Lyme. A Committee appointed by the Village Board completed a Dissolution Study and Plan. The Village Board then put the issue of dissolution before voters.

The Study Team
The Village Board appointed a six-member Study Committee that included both Village and Town representatives. The Village Board also engaged the Center for Governmental Research (CGR) to assist the Committee.

Timetable
The study began in spring 2011; public forums were held in May and June 2012 on the draft study and plan; and the final report was completed in July. On Nov. 6, 2012, Chaumont voters rejected dissolving the Village 145 – 102.
