First NY Village to Complete Dissolution Plan Under New Law

Altmar is the first village in New York to approve dissolution under a new state law. As a result, the Village had to prepare and approve a dissolution plan by May 31, 2011. A Dissolution Study Committee, assisted by the Center for Governmental Research (CGR) developed the plan to present to the Village Board. The Board approved the Elector Initiated Dissolution Plan for the Village of Altmar on May 23, 2011.

Following the public hearing on July 6, the plan was amended and the Amended Final Elector Initiated Dissolution Plan was approved by the Village Board on August 3, 2011. The Plan and a summary of the plan can be found here.
